This Garden thing is exciting!!! We've picked 2 zucchini, 2 cucumber and 2 peas. . .several tomatoes are getting close as well as lots of peas and zucchini. . .I've already made my first two loaves of zucchini bread and will make more tonight! The corn is tasseling - I can't wait for corn - YUM!!! Mason so enjoys watering the garden and helping. He picked the zucchini today and couldn't wait to call dad to tell him all about it!

10 Years and Counting. . . .
Delvin & I celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary yesterday. . . wow - how time flies!!!
I've been meaning to scan in our wedding pictures for a long time, so what better time to do it. . .which is taking me on that lovely trip down memory lane, so I'll share some of these pics with you so you too can either reminisce with me or, if you weren't with us this blessed day, get a glance into our past!
Here's our Wedding Announcement - the ribbon is a bit squished in the scanner. . .the background is looking off the coast in Long Beach, CA near the Aquarium. . .
Long Beach is where fell in love, right here sitting on this pier by the Aquarium between the boats. We sat on the dock, dangling our feet below talking and eating frozen yogurt in the misty rain (which neither of us noticed until we stood up and saw the dry spots from where we had been sitting). It was that fateful night on this impromptu journey that we fell in love and Delvin woke up in the middle of that night realizing he had just found his wife. I realized it 3 days later. 
July 10, 1999 was a busy day - instead of getting my hair done at some salon I decided to save money and do it myself. I love this pic - me doing my niece Amy's hair and my sister-in-law, Cheri, doing my hair in our hotel room. Although I do love this pic and that memory I always tell brides-to-be to spend the money and get your hair and makeup done!
We were married in the San Diego Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was a gorgeous location and the ceremony was equally as beautiful! Below are the guests with us during the ceremony and waiting for us outside of the temple!
Our wedding party was a bit un-traditional I guess you could say - Delvin's little brother, Junior, and my nephew, Jeff were the groomsmen and my nieces Amy, Claire, & Dansil (not pictured - she was just done with the day and the "itchy" dress) were the bridesmaids.
When we were married I had been living with and caring for my 100 year old grandmother - Nana wasn't physically able to attend the wedding so we made it a point of going to see her before the reception began all dressed up. Nana was the funniest during our courtship - we would have the same conversation over and over again:
Nana: "What's his name?"
Me:"Delvin Tapusoa"
Nana: "Tapusoa? Tapusoa? What nationality is that?"
Me: "Samoan"
Nana: "Oh - you're marrying a darky are ya?"
(pause for laughter and shaking of heads)
Nana: "What does he do?"
Me: "He's a plumber"
Nana: (laughing) "He'll sure plumber you!" (more laughter)
(Julie's face turning beet red)
What a riot she was!!!!! She loved Delvin - she would hold his hands and comment over and over on how strong they were!
Nana passed away 4 days after we returned from our honeymoon. What a joy she was!

Cutting and feeding the cake was fun! One of my favorite moments because I was finally able to pull a fast one on Delvin! Top is me begging him to be nice during the cake feeding - to not get the dress dirty - the dress that my sister and I worked so many hours making!!!!!! I don't remember what the laughing one was all about, but I love the pic! He was so nice and polite and didn't make a mess and I pulled away and smashed it into his face!!! Ha ha - I finally tricked you - you big tease!!!!!!!!
Continuing on during the reception, Delvin's Mom sang the Hawaiian Wedding song while his Auntie danced it. Afterward, Delvin's cousins, who have a Polynesian Dance group, put on quite a show!!! It gave the evening a sweet Polynesian flair!
Another of Delvin's Aunties made all the food and it was Delicious - I wish I could've eaten more!!! The one miserable moment of the evening was enduring the Money Dance! Delvin had specifically asked to NOT have that dance done, he really didn't want it, but they did it anyway. Delvin got pretty angry about it and after watching his Uncles pick me up and start dancing around with me on their shoulders he demanded they put me down, grabbed me tight and held me close telling me how much he hated it until it was over. A few weeks later we found out that all the money we had given to his Aunt for the catering she had put into dollar bills for the money dance. She didn't know he had requested not to have it and she was the one who insisted it happen. That made us feel better!!
It was a great day overall - we drove off the Blue Jay and stayed in our family cabin for three days before flying off to Alaska for an amazing honeymoon!
Our 10 years have been pretty eventful to say the least. . . a very scary pregnancy, a move from California to Washington, 8 surgeries, renovating our first home, raising 2 (soon to be 3) awesome kids, and so much more - it has been a hard, but great road that I pray continues for the rest of our lives and eternity!!

4th of July Festivities
We had a great 4th! Delvin's two little brothers, Junior & Pasia, came for a visit and are staying with us for a few weeks. We also had our friend, Jesus and his 3 daughters over - they had a great time jumping on the trampoline (anyone know where to buy the blue pads to cover the trampoline springs? Obviously ours is a disaster!)
Delvin and the boys went to Boom City (huge firework place on the reservation) again and got some great stuff. We had two that misfired, tipped over and shot out on the ground, which was quite scary, but no one injured and we had a great show! Our neighborhood was rocking as usual - we'll never leave town on the 4th - no better place than Marysville for fireworks!!!! 
The 5th was Junior's 13th Birthday - we made him "The World's Ugliest Cake". It was darn ugly, but it tasted good - that's the important part! He thought it was funny too - it was a fun day as well!

Watch our Garden Grow and Grow and Grow!
Ok it's been a really long time since I posted about the garden! It was a lot of work, but we built the raised beds, filled them with good soil and planted and replanted a few things. . .it's been fun in general and we hope it proves fruitful, or would that be vegeful??? Aidan has been taking pictures so he wants to show off his photography.
Building the beds, we recycled the logs that our neighbor wanted to get rid of. They're not the prettiest looking logs in these pics, but we cleaned them up a bit and once the dried out they look a lot better! The kids really got into rolling them through the yard!
Aidan took the rest of these today! Aidan is very excited about the Tomato, even though he won't eat tomatoes! Ha ha!

We Love a Parade!!!
Well, we only like going to the Marysville Strawberry Festival Parade!!! We go every year and it was fun as usual this year. We sat with our friends Jane & Collin Downey which made it more fun, especially since they had come out really early and saved us good seats!! It was also really fun to see several of the youth from our church playing in marching bands and on the Strawberry Festival float as a Princess. We also saw one of Aidan's school classmates in a fancy car advertising a costume shop. Here's some pics of our favorites this year!
The Princesses from the different hawaiian Islands were on horseback - their costumes were gorgeous and the flowers were breathtaking!!! They were new to our parade this year and it was such a treat to see them - so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!
The Western Vigilantes are a yearly favorite!
We always love the Seafair Pirates, but the Pirates of Treasure Island have much better costumes!
She came right up to Collin and I don't know what she said, but it she was quite intense about it!

I don't remember where this group is from, but they've come for the last few years and these things they spin are amazing - They had more last year, but still very impressive!!
Mason did so much better then we thought he'd do. . .he sat on Delvin's lap the whole time, captivated by what was going on. The ending of the parade was anticlimatic, we didn't even realize it was over, once we realized it, we walked down to the end of the route where the firework display was and watched. Mason kept saying "oooo" or "oh wow" it was so funny! All in all it was a good parade and of course we'll be back next year!!!!
