Cub Scout Day Camp - Camp McKinley

I remember when my nephew, Jeff, was in Cub Scouts. . .my sister told me scouting was such a blessing in their families lives. I didn't understand - it's just activities for the boys - gives them something to do. Now that we've been in it for a few months I finally get it!!!!! Scouting is a huge blessing in our lives - it has been such a wonderful experience for our whole family and I can't wait to see the blessing that pour into our family over the next several years.

Cub Scout Day Camp ended today - it was sooooo much fun! I volunteered on Monday and Thursday. Monday I ran the Detective Training which consisted of two separate activities - creating obstacle courses and the other used mirrors to get a laser light from one point to another. It was fun, but hectic trying to lead the two groups simultaneously and taking care of Mason (who was sick) all at the same time. I barely got his diaper changed once and luckily he finally took a nap during the last group of the day. Today was much better - I got to go around to each station with Aidan's Den and had the flexibility to take Mason back to the car for nap time. Overall it was such a great experience for me and I hope it was wonderful for Aidan! Check out some of the fun stuff that happened!

After earning his patch he got the yellow Wolf handkerchief and was sent to cross over the bridge to the Wolf den.

After crossover they had a Rain Gutter Regatta. Blow, Aidan, Blow!!!!!

Last Day of School

Today was a great day!!! It was the last day of school (only 2 hours). There was an awards assembly and slideshow - Aidan got the "Responsible Choices Award" for following school rules, being honest at all times, trustworthy, completing homework and using time effectively. Then he got an award in his classroom for "Reading Excellence and Quiet Leadership".
After school his class had a party at Lake Goodwin - it was cold, but it was a blast! Yesterday Aidan shared his Student of the Week poster and we brought donuts to share with the class. Aidan helped me put this slideshow/scrapbook together of the events of the last two days! Enjoy!!!!
P.S. - Mason is completely crawling today - not just a couple of knees - from one end of the room to the other AND he's taking steps now while holding onto the furniture - WOW, slow down kid! I'll try to get a video up of it soon!

Star Student

Here's Aidan at the Star Student breakfast at his school. To be a Star Student Aidan had to get all his teachers (homeroom, science, librarian, P. E., Reading, recess aides etc. etc.) to sign off that he is an exemplary student. He became a star student in January. Pretty cool. GOOD JOB AIDAN!!!

Roof on the shed. . .FINALLY!

Delvin is finally roofing the shed he built 2 years ago. . . happy day! Aidan loves being on the roof with him! We don't have a ladder tall enough so Delvin built one!

Climbing into everything!

Here's some pics of funny things Mason is climbing in lately!

A Lefty???

I started noticing this week that Mason might be a Lefty! I started watching very closely and sure enough he goes for everything with the left hand. Sooooooo, all you left-handers out there, give me some comments about being a lefty in a right handed world - Thanks

Look what Mason can do. . .

Mason started pulling himself up to standing! AHHH, not ready for this. . .he pulls up on the couch, the bathtub, a small bench we have in the living room, and anything else that's the right height for pulling up on! So cute!

What's going on?

It's been awhile. . .so what's been going on? Mason is crawling and pulling himself up to a standing position on various furniture! He's still very wobbly, but I'm sure he'll be cruising in no time!!! Aidan only has 8 days of school left! I started back at work, it's going alright. Delvin started a new job in Oak Harbor and we decided to move there! He works 4 10 hrs shifts, so he goes down on Monday morning and stays at my moms and comes home on Thursday night. We miss him and want our family back together, so we've got to sell this house and move to Whidbey Island. We're frantically trying to finish up all the details that we never did so that we can get it up on the market. Lots of work! I also found a job doing the exact thing I've been searching for all year and on Whidbey island too. . .HOORAY!! I've applied and now waiting to hear if I'll get an interview. I need all your prayers!!!!! I'll give you more details if I get the job! That's it. . .sooooo tired - gotta get to bed.
